Special days
One list of dates for your calendars and countdowns.
In this guide
Save a date you want your widgets to remember#
A Special day is a named date saved in Widget Ninja, such as a birthday, the start of a trip, or a milestone. You give it a date, an icon, and a color. A calendar can mark it, and a countdown can show the time until it.
Saving a Special day does not automatically add a countdown to your Home Screen. First save the date, then choose it in a calendar or countdown design. These dates are shared across your widgets, so you do not need to enter a birthday again for each design.
This tool is in Library → Special days, outside the visual editor.
Add a day#
Open Special days
In Library, tap Special days, then Add a special day.
Name it and choose a date
Set the name, date, icon, and color.
Choose how it counts
Use Until it for a countdown or Since it for a count up from a past date.
Tap Add
The day is saved in the shared Special days list.
Add a time or repeat#
For a day counting until a date, turn on Time if an hours-based countdown should end at a particular time. Use Repeats for recurring dates.
A day counting since a date does not use a time or a repeat. A linked Calendar event gets its date and time from the event.
Add from Calendar#
Tap Add from Calendar, allow Calendar access if requested, and choose an event. Review the day and tap Add. The day follows the linked event if it moves.
Show it in a widget#
For a calendar, select the layer and use Days → Special days. For a countdown, open Calendar → Countdown and use Your days. You can choose all or selected saved days where those controls are offered.
Change or delete a day#
Use Change beside a saved day. Changes to an existing day save as you make them. They affect every widget using that day.
Delete removes the day from the shared list after confirmation, so it disappears from every widget that shows it. It is not just an edit to one widget.
