ARRANGE & STYLE
Position & Size
Move the layer’s box, change its size, or turn it a little.
In this guide
Change the space a piece occupies#
Use Position & Size when the right thing is in the wrong place, or needs more room. For example, move a date toward the center or make a photo box wider.
Its box is the area the piece occupies on the widget. Making a text box wider gives its words more room; to make the letters themselves bigger, use Text → Size instead. For a photo, Photo → Focus moves the picture inside its box.
Open a saved widget in Library, tap Design Visually, select the piece you want to change, then tap Position & Size in the toolbar. Its panel contains Move, Size, and Turn and fade.
Move#
Select the piece on the canvas or in Layers, then tap Position & Size in the toolbar. Inside its panel, tap Move. Use the arrows for small moves, or tap Center horizontally or Center vertically. You can also drag the selected layer on the canvas.
Size#
Select the piece and open Position & Size → Size. Choose Width or Height above the ruler, then drag the ruler to change that dimension. A list can offer row height separately from the whole list’s height.
Inside a layout, sizing controls can offer fitting the content, filling the space, or setting your own size. The parent’s arrangement decides where the part sits.
Turn and fade#
Select the piece and open Position & Size → Turn and fade. Choose Rotation above the ruler to turn it, or Opacity to make it more or less see-through. Drag the ruler while watching the preview. These change the layer, rather than the widget preview.
Inside a group or row#
A group places its parts through Arrangement. If dragging does not give the layout you want, select the surrounding group and change its arrangement, spacing, or alignment. Position controls can offer a button to select that surrounding group or row.
Positions on other sizes#
On the main size, moving a layer affects sizes that follow its position. Moving it on another size gives that size its own position. Match main size removes that separate position. Read the widget sizes guide before tuning several sizes.
