A small symbol beside your information#
An icon is a simple symbol, such as a heart beside a heart-rate value or a calendar beside an event. Use one to make a label easier to recognize without adding more words.
The picker uses Apple’s symbol collection, called SF Symbols. You can search by ordinary words and browse pictures; you do not need to know a symbol’s technical name.
Open a saved widget in Library, then tap Design Visually. Add an independent icon if you want to move it separately. Add an icon through a text layer’s Content tool if it should stay attached to those words.
To find Add, tap the empty canvas outside the widget preview to leave any selection. Add appears in the toolbar below the preview. Once you add a piece, select it to open its own tools.
Add an icon#
Open Icon
Tap Add → Photos & Icons → Icon.
Choose a symbol
Search or browse the categories. Tap a symbol, then choose its weight.
Tap Done
The picker applies changes as you make them. Done closes it. Tap Save to save your widget.
Find a symbol#
Search by a word, browse a category, or type an exact SF Symbol name. When the name is supported, the picker offers it as a custom choice. If it is not available, try another name.
Edit an icon#
Tap the icon on the canvas, then tap Icon in the toolbar. In its panel, tap Choose another icon to open the picture picker, or tap Weight to make the symbol’s strokes thinner or thicker. Open Color for a solid color or gradient, and Position & Size to move or resize it.
Add an icon before text#
Select the text layer and open Content → Icon. Choose an icon there if you want it to stay attached to the text. A separate Icon layer can be moved independently.
